Football Game Preview: Lakeside Rams vs. Robinson Senators

The Lakeside Rams will square off against the Robinson Senators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Lakeside sitting on three straight victories and Robinson on 13.

Lakeside is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They secured a 25-21 W over Parkview.

Lakeside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Peter Ohman, who rushed for 131 yards and two scores. Ohman is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Drew Morgan was another key pass catcher, picking up 131 receiving yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Robinson was able to grind out a solid win over Morrilton on Friday, taking the game 35-28.

A big part of Robinson's victory came down to the chemistry between Reece Simpson and his top target Charles Petty. Simpson threw for 204 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Petty gained 111 total yards and a touchdown. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 67 yards.

Robinson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 209 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October.

One reason for the win was Robinson's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as five different players picked up one apiece ( Deminio Patterson and Lennox Campos also recorded half a sack). Another thorn in Morrilton's side was Isiah Reese, who picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles.

Lakeside's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Robinson, their victory bumped their record up to 13-0.

Things could have been worse for Lakeside, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 35-16 loss to Robinson in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
