Basketball Recap: Mingus Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Mingus had won six straight home games and Alice Kinsey did her part to make it seven on Friday. The Mingus Marauders enjoyed a cozy 51-35 victory over the Bradshaw Mountain Bears thanks in part to Kinsey, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Leah Lopez, who posted six points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Bradshaw Mountain's loss came despite strong showings from Kalli Smith and Presley Connolly. Smith dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards, while Connolly earned ten points and five rebounds. That was a full 45.7% of Bradshaw Mountain's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Mingus has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Bradshaw Mountain, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Mingus has already played their next game (against Flagstaff), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Bradshaw Mountain has also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Prescott.
