The Rich Rebels will be playing at home against the Big Piney Punchers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Rich has six straight victories, Big Piney has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Saturday, Rich didn't have too much trouble with Wendover at home as they won 40-24.
The match pitted two dominant players against one another in Haydee Pugmire and Millie Hicks. Pugmire had a solid game and scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Meanwhile, Hicks was balling out in the loss, scoring ten points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Big Piney suffered their biggest defeat since December 9, 2023 on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 72-47 walloping at the hands of Wyoming Indian.
Rich's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points per game. As for Big Piney, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Rich against Big Piney in their previous matchup on January 6th as the team secured a 65-35 win. Will Rich repeat their success, or does Big Piney have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
