Despite the defeat, Liberty Christian Academy had strong showings from Mark Bachmann, who scored 13 points along with 6 assists, and Caleb Morton, who scored 11 points. Luke Cavanuagh was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 5 rebounds.
John Paul II Catholic found their leader in underclassman Caleb Knight , who scored 24 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Knight has scored at least 25% of John Paul II Catholic's points. Another player making a difference was Kyle Watkins , who scored 12 points.
Liberty Christian Academy has fallen quite a ways from their 19-6 record last season and are now at 1-2. As for John Paul II Catholic, their win bumped their record up to an identical 1-2.
Liberty Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Lejeune at 7:00 p.m. As for John Paul II Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Lawrence Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lawrence Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Thursday.
