Basketball Recap: Braylon Anderson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat South Sioux City

Oakland-Craig's game on Thursday was all tied up 26-26 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 56-48 win over the South Sioux City Cardinals. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Oakland-Craig's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braylon Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards. Anderson has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Dawson Meyer, who posted seven points and five steals.

Despite the loss, South Sioux City saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ahmed Mohamed dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Painter, who earned ten points along with five rebounds and four blocks.

Oakland-Craig's record is now 10-3. As for South Sioux City, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Oakland-Craig has already played their next match, a 59-46 victory against Lyons-Decatur Northeast on the 17th. As for South Sioux City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 83-27 defeat against Skutt Catholic on the 18th.
