East Hill Christian has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Tuesday. They will face off against the Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators at 5:29 p.m. East Hill Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Friday, East Hill Christian came up short against Santa Rosa Christian and fell 31-19.
Gulf Pointe Latin lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Friday was a bit more commanding. They were the victim of a tough 38-18 defeat at the hands of Baker. Gulf Pointe Latin has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their loss, Gulf Pointe Latin saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Coral Hamer, who scored two points along with 11 rebounds and four steals, was perhaps the best of all. Hamer hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.
East Hill Christian's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-8. As for Gulf Pointe Latin, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Things could have been worse for East Hill Christian, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 32-16 loss to Gulf Pointe Latin in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Gulf Pointe Latin's Holland Hamer, who scored 17 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Now that East Hill Christian knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
