Pocono Mountain East (Swiftwater, Pa.) 37-12 on Saturday.
The lead that the Cavaliers took on a
Tyler McLaughlin touchdown pass to
Sherrod Ford with 9:00 left in the first quarter stood up for the duration of the game, as neither team managed to score in the second half.
East Stroudsburg South put up 23 points in the second quarter en route to the win. ESS scored on a Petrone touchdown run, a touchdown pass by McLaughlin to
Zee Roberson and a touchdown run by Petrone in the quarter.
Evan Fardella played well for the Cardinals. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown.
Honeycutt played well for the East Stroudsburg school in the victory. The sophomore running back kicked three extra points.
The Cavaliers got revenge for last year's 22-13 loss to Pocono Mountain East with the victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for Pocono Mountain East, which notched a 41-21 victory over Quakertown in its previous outing. The loss snapped PME's 2-game winning streak.
East Stroudsburg South (4-1) goes up against Pleasant Valley in a Mountain Valley game matchup next week, while Pocono Mountain East (3-2) locks horns with Pleasant Valley also in a Mountain Valley game.
