It was another big night for Jamal Rule, who rushed for 148 yards and a pair of TDs. Charlotte Christian is 3-1 when Rule posts 100 or more rushing yards, but 2-4 otherwise. Vincent Rosen was another key player, picking up 100 receiving yards and one score.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Charlotte Christian proved: they limited Charlotte Latin to a paltry 2.5 yards per carry. While one picked up at least three total tackles, Rosen stood above the rest. He picked up 100 receiving yards and one touchdown. Charlotte Christian is a perfect 4-0 when they shut down the run game so well.
Charlotte Christian's defense didn't let Troy Logan, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Mj Barrow with two. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one sack the last four times he's played.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Charlotte Country Day School's offense. They were beaten by Providence Day 49-0 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Buccaneers have suffered since November 1, 2024.
Charlotte Country Day School's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Charlotte Christian, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Charlotte Christian has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 159.3 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Charlotte Country Day School, though, as they've been averaging only 84.2 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
