Stone Memorial is 3-0 against Hixson since September of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Stone Memorial Panthers will be staying on the road to face off against the Hixson Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
Last Friday, Stone Memorial and Macon County were almost perfectly matched up, but Stone Memorial suffered an agonizing 15-14 loss.
The losing side was boosted by Nick Osmun, who rushed for 119 yards, and also threw for 173 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 passes.
Meanwhile, Hixson sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 17-14 victory over East Ridge on Friday. The win was just what Hixson needed coming off of a 34-7 loss in their prior matchup.
Stone Memorial's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 6-4. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.0 points per game. As for Hixson, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
Everything came up roses for Stone Memorial against Hixson in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 37-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stone Memorial since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
