Baseball Recap: Waccamaw Victorious

Waccamaw posted their closest victory since April 30, 2025 on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Martinsburg Bulldogs 7-6.

Carson Dunn made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Waccamaw is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-9 otherwise. Dunn was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Christian Galasso was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Owen Mason, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI.

Waccamaw's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Martinsburg, they dropped their record down to 8-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Waccamaw wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-2 victory against Aynor on the 14th. As for Martinsburg, they have also already played their next matchup, a 7-1 win against Monsignor McClancy on the 10th.
