The Lincoln North Star Navigators will head out on the road to face off against the Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lincoln North Star knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Lincoln Southwest likes a good challenge.
Last Thursday, Lincoln North Star was able to grind out a solid win over Grand Island, taking the game 59-52.
Lincoln North Star got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was KG Gatwech out in front who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Lazerek Houston was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Lincoln Southwest entered their tilt with Norfolk with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Lincoln Southwest was the clear victor by a 65-43 margin over Norfolk.
Lincoln North Star has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Lincoln Southwest, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Lincoln North Star and Lincoln Southwest were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, but Lincoln North Star came up empty-handed after a 67-66 defeat. Can Lincoln North Star avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
