Lynnfield is 0-10 against Pentucket Regional since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lynnfield Pioneers will head out on the road to challenge Pentucket Regional at 6:30 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Lynnfield has not done well against Amesbury recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Lynnfield strolled past Amesbury with points to spare, taking the game 36-22. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lynnfield.
Meanwhile, Pentucket Regional gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on January 3rd. They blew past Essex Tech 44-18.
Lynnfield's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Pentucket Regional, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 1-0.
Lynnfield took a serious blow against Pentucket Regional in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 57-29. Can Lynnfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
