On Friday, The Bentonville West Wolverines faced the Southside Mavericks in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bentonville West skirted past Southside 24-21. The win was nothing new for Bentonville West as they're now sitting on five straight.
Amari Tucker and Isaac Gregory certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Tucker rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown, while Gregory gained 107 total yards and a touchdown.
Bentonville West's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-2. As for Southside, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Bentonville West will be playing in front of their home fans against Bentonville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arkansas (Bentonville is ranked eighth, while Bentonville West is ranked 14th). As for Southside, they will head out on the road to face off against Springdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Springdale is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
