While Jefferson Davis Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They secured a 40-36 W over the Mead Hall Episcopal School Panthers on Thursday. The Raiders' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Leading Jefferson Davis Academy to victory were Nasir Void and Reece Still. Void dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Still went 6 of 14 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Void has scored at least a third of Jefferson Davis Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Corbin Perry, who posted eight points.

Jefferson Davis Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in five consecutive games dating back to last season.

Mead Hall Episcopal School lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Braylon Fuller, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 18 rebounds. With that strong performance, Fuller is now averaging an impressive 9.5 boards per game. Walker Weidenman was another key player, putting up 11 points and six rebounds.

Jefferson Davis Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for Mead Hall Episcopal School, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Jefferson Davis Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-48 defeat against Holly Hill Academy on the 13th. As for Mead Hall Episcopal School, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 62-35 loss against Westminster Schools of Augusta on the 13th.
