Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Atkins). They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat the Carter G. Woodson Eagle 52-13. The victory was some much needed relief for the Camels as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Atkins got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amanda Worrell out in front who went 8 for 12 on her way to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Shen, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 12 points and three steals.

Atkins was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Atkins' victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7. As for Carter G. Woodson, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

After both having extra time off, Atkins and Southern Guilford will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Carter G. Woodson, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 14, 2025.
