The Aurora Huskies waltzed into their game Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Roncalli Catholic 55-38. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Aurora has managed all season.
Aurora found their leader in underclassman Kenna Merrihew, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Kendal Wineteer, who scored nine points along with six assists and three steals.
Aurora's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Roncalli Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Aurora will look to defend their home court on Thursday against St. Paul at 6:00 p.m. Roncalli Catholic and Platteview will face off on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Platteview has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.
