Even though the Coral Reef Barracudas have not done well against the Braddock Bulldogs recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Coral Reef managed a 70-64 win over Braddock. The win was all the more spectacular given Coral Reef's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 428th, while Braddock is ranked 201st).
Coral Reef's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nathaniel Wesley, who scored 24 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wesley has scored at least 25% of Coral Reef's points. Another player making a difference was Angel Santos, who scored 16 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Coral Reef and bumps their season record up to 6-11. As for Braddock, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season.
Coral Reef will be playing at home against Southwest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. Braddock won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Ferguson at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Ferguson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 776 points over their last 11 matchups.
