Hazleton Area has gone a perfect 10-0 against Berwick recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Hazleton Area's favor as the team sits on ten straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Berwick has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
Hazleton Area's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Parkland. The game marked the Cougars' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Jack Esposito tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Logan Hearity, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Mason Rinker was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Crestwood hit Berwick with a four-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs fell 7-4 to the Comets.
Berwick also got a good showing from Chris Hinkle, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Furthermore, Hinkle didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2025.
On the hitting side, Berwick saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Walsh, who went 1-for-3 with one run. That run marked the first that Walsh has scored this season. Another was Grant Evensen, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.
Berwick's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Hazleton Area, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Berwick's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hazleton Area hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .352. It's a different story for Berwick, though, as they've only averaged .240. Will they be able to contain Hazleton Area's hitters?
