Bellevue East played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 75-40 loss at the hands of the Omaha Central Eagles. The Chieftains were down 58-28 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Several Chieftains players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kris Brown, who posted 13 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Isaac Gore, who scored six points and six blocks.
Lenox Haynes was his usual excellent self, going 7-for-13 en route to 17 points and five boards for Omaha Central. What's more, Haynes also posted a 54% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Braylon Owens was another key player, going 5-for-11 to rack up 11 points and seven rebounds.
Bellevue East dropped their record down to 6-13 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Omaha Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-12.
Coming up, it'll be Eastside v. Westside when Bellevue East and Bellevue West meet at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Bellevue West knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 20 matches -- so hopefully Bellevue East likes a good challenge. As for Omaha Central, they will face off against Lincoln High at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
