Woodward Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 48-21 loss at the hands of the Carrollton Trojans. The War Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-14.
Despite the loss, Woodward Academy still got an impressive performance from Ryan Harrigan, who threw for 230 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground.
Carrollton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but CJ Cypher led the charge by throwing for 118 yards and two TDs. Ryan Mosley did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 93 receiving yards.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodward Academy will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Collins Hill at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Carrollton, they will face off against Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
