Rochester and Springfield are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Rockets will be playing at home against the Senators at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Rochester's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Springfield has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
On Friday, Rochester beat Washington 8-5.

Ajay Runkel was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sam Ferris, who went 2-for-3 with one home run. Landen Kerns also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Meanwhile, Springfield lost a heartbreaker to Sacred Heart-Griffin when they met back in April of 2024, and they left with a heavy heart again on Saturday. The Senators fell just short of the Cyclones by a score of 6-5. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 22, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Brody Scheffler made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Wade Snyder, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Rochester, their victory bumped their record up to 18-7.
Springfield's pitching crew better be locked in on Tuesday. Rochester hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. It's a different story for Springfield, though, as they've been averaging only 0 home runs. Will they be able to keep Rochester in the park?
Rochester came up short against Springfield in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 5-1. Will the Rockets have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
