Softball Recap: Boone Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

Boone barely beat Newton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Toreadors put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 14-5 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Toreadors have won five games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Boone pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Newton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Boone will face off against North Polk at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Comets will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Newton, they will take on Pleasantville at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
