After losing to the Burroughs Burros the last time they met, the Victor Valley Jackrabbits decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Victor Valley came out on top against Burroughs by a score of 56-45 on Saturday. That's two games straight that Victor Valley has won by exactly 11 points.
Several Burros players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cory Kent, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Kent continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeffrey Brady, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
The win got Victor Valley back to even at 8-8. As for Burroughs, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Victor Valley will challenge Barstow at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burroughs, Burroughs and Hesperia will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hesperia presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Burroughs in California (Hesperia is ranked 167th, while Burroughs is ranked 713th).
