Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Delcambre's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Delcambre lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Catholic - N.I., but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. Delcambre was the clear victor by a 16-1 margin over Catholic - N.I. on Tuesday. Delcambre might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Shawn LeBlanc looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cayton Maturin was a standout: he fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-2. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Delcambre is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 11-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tre' Leleux, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Delcambre always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Delcambre is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Catholic - N.I., their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 13-11.

Coincidentally, Delcambre and Catholic - N.I. will both be playing Loreauville the next time they take the field. Catholic - N.I. will host Loreauville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Delcambre will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
