The Scales Mound Hornets stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They put the hurt on Rochelle with a sharp 73-51 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-20.
Thomas Hereau was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15points for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Birkett, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Scales Mound's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Rochelle, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Scales Mound will square off against Rockford Christian at 10:30 a.m. on Monday. Rockford Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 938 points over their last 12 games. As for Rochelle, they will square off against Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
