A  win for South Eugene just wasn't in the cards  on Friday as the  team wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They came up short against  the Springfield Millers, falling  40-20. Despite 98 more yards than the Millers, the Axe couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
  Felix Olietti threw for 109 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 100 yards.  
 Isaiah Francis was his top target, picking up 64 receiving yards.
 It was another big night for  Noah Solo, who rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 53 yards and a touchdown for Springfield. With that strong performance,  Solo is now averaging an impressive 104.6  rushing yards per game.  Clay Rhoades also helped with two touchdowns in total.
 South Eugene dropped their record down to 0-6 with the  defeat, which was their eighth straight  on the road dating back to last season. As for Springfield, their  victory (their first of the  season) made their record 1-6.
 South Eugene will be playing in front of their home fans against Roseburg  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. South Eugene is facing Roseburg at the right time seeing as Roseburg is stuck on  a  three-game losing streak. As for Springfield, they are taking a road trip to  take on Eagle Point  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
