While losing is never fun, Saguaro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North is ranked 32nd).
When it comes to explaining why Saguaro lost, one person who can't be blamed is Trae Kaye. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 2 assists. Nashoba Redhouse was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Saguaro and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Saguaro will head out on the road to face off against American Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. American Leadership Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Saguaro likes a good challenge. As for American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Higley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Higley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday.
