The Bloomingdale Bulls will head out to take on the Durant Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
On Friday, Bloomingdale came up short against Berkeley Prep and fell 28-15. While losing is never fun, the Bulls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 285th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 90th).

09/26/25 vs Bartow | 71 |
08/22/25 @ Newsome | 69 |
09/19/25 @ Brandon | 12 |
09/12/25 vs East Bay | -2 |
Despite the loss, Bloomingdale got top-tier performance from Preston Beckham, who rushed for 134 yards and two TDs on only 12 carries. Beckham's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 104 rushing yards. Sammy Zelaya helped out on the ground, rushing for 126 yards.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Durant). They blew past Newsome, posting a 50-21 win. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Cougars with their most commanding win of the season.
Durant's win came from a few key players Bloomingdale will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Sam Themar, who threw for 153 yards and three touchdowns on perfect 8-for-8 passing, and also rushed for 74 yards and one score. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 57 yards. Another player making a difference was King Rivera, who picked up 123 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Durant was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 202 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.
Durant didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Rivera and Ryan Porter.
The victory made it two in a row for Durant and bumps their season record up to 3-4. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to yards per carry: they averaged an imposing 5.7 yards per carry in those games compared to only 2.96 in the others. As for Bloomingdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
Bloomingdale might still be hurting after the 27-3 defeat they got from Durant in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Bulls, Emmanuel Lee (who rushed for 148 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
