It was a good run, but the Front Range Baptist Falcons unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 68-57 to Loveland Classical. The game was a 33-33 toss-up at halftime, but Front Range Baptist was outscored by Loveland Classical in the second.
When it comes to explaining why Front Range Baptist lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alex Prelog. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Prelog hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Ethan Granthan, who scored 12 points.
Leading Loveland Classical to victory were Luke Sainz and Caedon Meyer. Sainz scored 17 points along with two steals, while Meyer dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Sainz is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Jensen, who scored ten points.
Front Range Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Loveland Classical, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Front Range Baptist and Denver Waldorf will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Denver Waldorf is ranked 142nd, while Front Range Baptist is ranked 138th). Loveland Classical won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Twin Peaks Charter Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 24th. Hopefully Twin Peaks Charter Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Monday.
