There's no place like home for the Sparta Academy Warriors, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They managed a 44-40 victory over Patrician Academy on Monday. That's another feather in the cap for Sparta Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sparta Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamie Ellissa Deason, who almost dropped a triple-double on 13 points, 13 rebounds, and nine steals. Deason is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mary Trainham Brock, who scored 14 points along with nine steals and five rebounds.
Sparta Academy pushed their record up to 19-3 with that victory, which was their 18th straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points per game. As for Patrician Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Sparta Academy will be playing at home against Jackson Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Patrician Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
