Bracie Jackson was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she brought in this season.
In other batting news, Sidney Patton made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-4. She also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season.
Meanwhile, West Washington put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Christian Academy as they made off with an 18-0 victory. That 18 run margin sets a new team best for the Senators this season.
Like Eastern, West Washington also got a great game from a two-way player: Macy Lowery. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lowery was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Lilly Thompson was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Adelle Brown, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
West Washington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
West Washington's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Eastern, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Eastern couldn't quite get it done against West Washington in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Can the Musketeers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
