Waldron has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on The Nashville Scrappers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, Waldron took a serious blow against Arkadelphia, falling 55-12. While losing is never fun, Waldron can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas football rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while Arkadelphia is ranked 47th).
Meanwhile, everything went Nashville's way against Ashdown on Friday as Nashville made off with a 52-26 victory. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Nashville had established a 25 point advantage.
Tre Hopkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 187 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Nashville also got a significant boost from Tucker Dixon, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.
Nashville's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. Leading the way was Zaccheus Harris and his five sacks.
Waldron's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. Nashville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Waldron was dealt a bruising 41-6 defeat at the hands of Nashville when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can Waldron avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
