Emery McClure made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Brinley Pope was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Lily Canady was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Dorchester Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Andrew Jackson Academy only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, Jefferson Davis Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 15-5 to Holly Hill Academy. That's two games in a row now that Jefferson Davis Academy has lost by exactly ten runs.
Jefferson Davis Academy saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Jackson, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
Dorchester Academy's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Jefferson Davis Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Dorchester Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Jefferson Davis Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Dorchester Academy might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Jefferson Davis Academy in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can Dorchester Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
