Moscow is 2-7 against Sublette since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Moscow Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Sublette Larks at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Saturday, Moscow was the victim of a tough 61-35 loss at the hands of Osborne. While losing is never fun, Moscow can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Osborne is ranked 97th).
Meanwhile, sadly, Sublette is still looking for their first win of the season after 17 matches. They were outmatched by Wichita County at home and fell 73-19.
Aneya Puentes was Sublette's leading scorer, having posted nine points.
Talyna Guenter held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.
Ariana Ornelas took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Moscow has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Sublette, their loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17.
Moscow beat Sublette 36-29 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Sublette's Clarysa Webber, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Now that she won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Moscow to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
