Meanwhile, Mesilla Valley Christian School entered their tilt with Mescalero Apache on Wednesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Chiefs a 17-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the SonBlazers, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.
Mesilla Valley Christian School let Joanna Hurd and Stailey Faust run wild. Hurd went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Faust went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases Hurd has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Hackey, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Friday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. McCurdy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .550. However, it's not like Mesilla Valley Christian School struggles in that department as they've averaged .464. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
McCurdy suffered a grim 19-2 defeat to Mesilla Valley Christian School when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
