The Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams's game on Thursday was all tied up 29-29 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 64-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ferndale. Turkeyfoot Valley Area was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ferndale apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Despite the loss, Turkeyfoot Valley Area still got an impressive performance from Bryce Nicholson, who scored 21 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. The matchup was Nicholson's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Ely Walker was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
Ferndale was led to victory by Alex Lushko and Chance Washington. Lushko scored 18 points along with seven rebounds, while Washington dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Washington continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Hrivnak, who scored two points along with ten rebounds and five assists.
This is the second loss in a row for Turkeyfoot Valley Area and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Ferndale, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
Turkeyfoot Valley Area will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Hancock at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th. Ferndale will finish 2023 at home by hosting Meyersdale at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meyersdale is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
