Howard is 1-8 against the Hawks since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Howard Lions will look to defend their home court against the River Hill Hawks at 5:30 p.m. Howard will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Last Wednesday, Howard didn't have too much trouble with the 'Gators at home as they won 62-43. Given Howard's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the 'Gators are ranked 263rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, River Hill pushed their score all the way to 70 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 75-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of Atholton. It was the first time this season that River Hill let down their fans at home.
Howard has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for River Hill, their loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-2.
