Dawson School is a perfect 7-0 against Denver Academy since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Dawson School will host Denver Academy at 4:15 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
Dawson School barely beat Estes Park the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs blew past the Bobcats 19-6 on Wednesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won three games in a row.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Dawson School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.9 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.2.
Meanwhile, Denver Academy came into Wednesday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over Weldon Valley on Wednesday. With that win, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
John Henry Pogue made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Denver Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Pogue was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Josh Ortman was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Jack Wood was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Denver Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Dawson School, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Dawson School's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. Dawson School has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Denver Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Dawson School continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Dawson School's way against Denver Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Dawson School made off with an 11-0 victory. Does Dawson School have another victory up their sleeve, or will Denver Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
