The Lewisville Lions won the last time they faced the C.A. Johnson Hornets, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Lewisville came out on top against C.A. Johnson by a score of 42-33. The team accrued 31 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.
Lewisville found their leader in underclassman Aiyana Murrell, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Murrell has scored at least 25% of Lewisville's points. Another player making a difference was Madison Dawkins, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Lewisville is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for C.A. Johnson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Governor's School for Science & Math the next time they take the court. Lewisville will host Governor's School for Science & Math at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, while C.A. Johnson will host them at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
