Last Friday, Churchill County faced the Buckaroos in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Churchill County received a tough blow as they fell 52-34 to the Buckaroos. Churchill County has not had much luck with the Buckaroos recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, Churchill County saw an underclassman step up: Jada Anastasio scored 15 points. That was a full 44.1% of Churchill County's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Dayton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 54-21 loss at the hands of Elko.
Churchill County's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-6. As for Dayton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Churchill County against the Dust Devils in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 52-8 win. Will Churchill County repeat their success, or do the Dust Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
