The Princeton Tigers on the road again on Friday and play against the St. Joseph Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Princeton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Worth County with a sharp 70-44 victory. Given Princeton's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Worth County is ranked 492nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Even though St. Joseph Christian has not done well against Stanberry recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. St. Joseph Christian strolled past Stanberry with points to spare, taking the game 68-49. The final score was a far cry from the score of their previous head-to-head, which saw the teams combine for 45 points.
Princeton's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for St. Joseph Christian, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5.
Princeton took a serious blow against St. Joseph Christian in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 67-34. Can Princeton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
