The Jamestown Eagles will face off against the Bruton Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
Jamestown lost 9-3 to Warhill on Monday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Zoe Mayes (Marymount University) made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Bruton narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Lafayette 4-2. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Summer Hannam (Richard Bland) made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). Hannam (Richard Bland) was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one triple, and one stolen base. Hannam (Richard Bland) is crushing it when it comes to triples: she's hit at least one every time she's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Taylor Mass was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Califano, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Bruton's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Jamestown, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.
Bruton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Jamestown has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Bruton, though, as they've been averaging 14 hits. Given Jamestown's sizable advantage in that area, the Panthers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Jamestown came out on top in a nail-biter against Bruton in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, sneaking past 8-6. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
