Patten Academy suffered their biggest defeat yet this season last Monday. They took a serious blow against Cornerstone Christian, falling 89-32. While losing is never fun, Patten Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1379th, while Cornerstone Christian is ranked 375th).
Despite their defeat, Patten Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Empire Hall, who scored 20 points, was perhaps the best of all. That was a full 62.5% of Patten Academy's points, marking the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Aaron Donahue, who scored ten points.
Patten Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Cornerstone Christian, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-6.
