Softball Recap: San Jose's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

San Jose had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Hill Falcons 21-8. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 11 runs or more this season.

April Barron was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Genesis Davila, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4.

Barron wasn't the only one working in the hit department: San Jose kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

San Jose's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.3 runs over those games. As for Hill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, San Jose will host Silver Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Silver Creek has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.75 runs per game on average), something San Jose will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hill, they will venture away from home to square off against Overfelt at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
