The Central Tigers and the Bryant Hornets (ranked 78 and 75 in the MaxPreps national rankings respectively) squared off in a high-profile matchup. Central fell just short of Bryant by a score of 52-50. Central's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Bryant's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Camarion Bead led the charge by scoring 14 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Bead has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Trent Ford was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists and two steals.
Central's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-5. As for Bryant, the victory was the 23rd in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-2.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Cabot the next time they take the court. Bryant will head out to face Cabot at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Central will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
