Smithfield have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will take on New Kent at home at 7:00 PM on Friday. Smithfield will be strutting in after a victory while New Kent will be stumbling in from a loss.
It was a close one, but two weeks ago Smithfield sidestepped Warhill for a 30-27 win. The tight race was right in line with the MaxPreps state rankings' forecast.
Meanwhile, after a dominant win in their matchup last Tuesday, New Kent were humbled on Monday. They were completely outmatched, falling 7-44 to Lafayette. New Kent's low-scoring defeat was the unsatisfying follow-up to their high-scoring outing the contest before.
Smithfield took their game against New Kent the last time the two teams met by a conclusive 28-7 score. Will Smithfield repeat their success, or does New Kent have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
