The biggest upset of the week belonged to South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville, who took down 478th ranked South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville, 10-3. Brenden O'Neal threw for 158 yards and ran for 54 yards in the win.
Marquette Catholic extended the longest winning streak in Prairie State this week by beating Decatur Lutheran, 47-14. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Luke Hamlin and Austin Chausse gave Nokomis/Ramsey/Lincolnwood a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Hamlin threw for 61 yards and two touchdowns, while Chausse ran for 151 yards. Teammate Tyler Maxwell added to the ground attack by rushing for 57 yards.
Quentin Tooley was the best wideout in the league this week as Mt. Olive beat the Ponies. Tooley tallied five receptions for 70 yards. Jake Niehaus helped Mt. Olive's passing attack out by catching two balls for 33 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback O'Neal of the Wildcats is the league leader in passing yards this season with 735. He has also thrown six touchdowns. On the ground, the Redskins' Chausse has rushed for 905 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Ike Jackson. The Bunker Hill star has 15 catches for 333 yards.
Nokomis/Ramsey/Lincolnwood's Chausse needs only 95 yards against the Lions next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in Prairie State this week will be when Decatur Lutheran takes on the Redskins. As it stands, the Lions are in fifth, while Nokomis/Ramsey/Lincolnwood is in first.
The Redskins took down Metro-East Lutheran 71-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Hamlin ran for 26 yards in the win.
