The Clint Lions lost against the Ysleta Indians back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Clint suffered a rough 50-28 loss at the hands of Ysleta. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Clint in their matchups with Ysleta: they've now lost six in a row.
Clint got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Nathan Calleros and
Emilio Rodriguez, who each put up eight points.
It was another big night for Azaiah Thompson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds for Ysleta. That makes it three consecutive games in which Thompson has scored at least 25% of Ysleta's points. Another player making a difference was Damian Leon, who scored 5 points along with 5 rebounds.
Clint's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Ysleta, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Clint will head out on the road to face off against Parkland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Parkland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. Ysleta will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy at 4:30 p.m. on November 30th.
