The East Aurora Blue Devils pushed their score all the way to 70 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 74-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cleveland Hill. That's two games in a row now that East Aurora has lost by exactly four points.
Cleveland Hill was led to victory by Javier Nelson and Cameron D'Hilly. Nelson scored 27 points along with five rebounds, while D'Hilly dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. The contest was D'Hilly's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Meredith, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for East Aurora and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Cleveland Hill, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
East Aurora will be playing in front of their home fans against Global Concepts on Monday. Global Concepts is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Cleveland Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against Eden at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Eden presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cleveland Hill in New York (Eden is ranked 85th, while Cleveland Hill is ranked 661st).
