If the Concord Christian Lions were feeling good off their 85-40 takedown of Berean Christian last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Concord Christian fell just short of Lakeway Christian Academy by a score of 84-82. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Concord Christian lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Drew Sloan, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sloan has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cale Smith, who scored 21 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds.
Concord Christian's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-11. As for Lakeway Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
Concord Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-59 loss vs. Christian Academy of Knoxville on the 10th. Lakeway Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
